# State License Renewal (New Jersey)
> Complete guide to New Jersey real estate license renewal requirements and timeline
In addition to your General Referral [membership renewal](/knowledge-base/membership-management/membership-renewal), referral agents also have state license renewals processed by General Referral.
**NJ Renewal Schedule:** All New Jersey real estate agents must renew every two years, before June 30th of odd-numbered years (e.g., 2025, 2027, 2029).

General Referral automatically charges your payment method on file
Continuing education is **waived** for NJ referral agents!

### Accessing the Questionnaire
Look for an email from NJ Real Estate Commission around April 1st
The email contains your unique PIN for accessing the system

Answer all required questions and submit
**Important Deadline:** Complete your questionnaire by May 15th to avoid a \$40 late fee!

## When You'll Be Charged
**Automatic Integration**
If you join General Referral or have a membership anniversary between April-June of an odd-numbered year, the state renewal fee is automatically charged when your GR membership renews.
You'll receive advance email notice if you're in this category.
**June Processing**
If your situation doesn't fall into the above timeframe, your payment method on file will be charged during the first week of June. General Referral then pays the state your renewal fee on your behalf.

### Confirmation Process
You'll receive an automatic email confirmation from the NJ Real Estate Commission once your renewal is processed.
